Bring the children to Ždiar
A place where children can play and parents can unwind. Enjoy a family holiday in Ždiar beneath the Belianske Tatras, with games, animals and experiences to share. Children will love the playground by the house, our fluffy Samoyeds and sheep in the nearby meadows. Bachledka, Belianska Cave and plenty of family trips are close by.
Family holidays in Ždiar
There is fun for all ages at U Maťka a Kubka. Children have an outdoor playground with a sandpit, slide, swings and playhouse. Parents can relax on the terrace while keeping the children in sight.
Games and fun in the fresh air. The meadow below the terrace has room for active games, friendly competitions and family sport. Borrow badminton equipment, a flying disc, hoops, obstacles, ropes and other play equipment free of charge. Another playground and an outdoor workout area for older children and adults are just 300 metres away.
Meet the animals. Watch sheep and cows in the nearby meadows. By arrangement, you can also take our Samoyeds for a walk.
Fun on rainy days too. The shared lounge has a children’s corner with a play kitchen, toys, books and board games. Older children can enjoy table football.
We are happy to provide a cot free of charge for our youngest guests; just let us know in advance. Two bedrooms make it easy to arrange sleeping space to suit your family, and the apartment kitchen lets you prepare meals whenever the children need them. Our dogs and cats also live in the house; if you have allergies, please tell us before booking.

Why Maťko and Kubko?
Our house is named after two young shepherds from a well-known Slovak tale. Sheep, meadows and the mountains of the Belianske Tatras are part of our Ždiar too.
For young adventurers, we have also put together the “Maťko and Kubko Winter Challenge”: five fun tasks to brighten a winter holiday.
Our emblem features mountains, doves and a shepherd’s pitchfork.
