Where exactly are you?

Ždiar 281, 059 55 Ždiar, Poprad district, Slovakia. The house is in the centre of the village, on the hillside above the church, around 250 metres from the Ždiarsky dom museum. See Contact for directions and parking.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 14:00 to 24:00, and check-out is by 10:00. If you plan to arrive in the evening, please arrange it with us by phone in advance.

How many people can stay?

Up to 16: thirteen standard beds and three chair beds across six bedrooms, with five bathrooms. See the group accommodation page for the room and apartment layout.

Can we book the whole guest accommodation?

Yes, all guest accommodation can be reserved for one group of up to 16 people. The owners live in a separate part of the house. Send us your dates and guest numbers, and we will send a quote and sleeping arrangements. The minimum stay depends on the dates and will be agreed with you.

Are the sauna and hot tub included in the stay price?

With a standard accommodation booking, these are charged separately: sauna €15 for 1½ hours, outdoor hot tub €40 for 2 hours. Book in advance; during your session, the facility you choose is reserved exclusively for your group. Selected stay packages include access; see each package for details.

Can I bring my dog?

Please discuss bringing a dog with us before booking. Our own dogs and cats live in the house too; if you have allergies, let us know in advance.

Is there parking at the house?

Yes, there are six free spaces right by the house. There is a short uphill approach, so winter tyres are essential in winter.

Can we cook our own meals?

The apartments have their own kitchens with a fridge, hob and kettle. Room guests use the kitchen in the shared lounge, which has a cooker, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and fridge.

Do you serve breakfast?

No, accommodation is self-catering; coffee and tea are available. A grocery shop and restaurant are 200 metres away on foot, with more restaurants within 500 metres.

How far away is the skiing?

Ski Strednica is 3 km from the house, Bachledka 4.3 km and Strachan around 8 minutes by car. In winter, there is also a free ski bus with a stop around 200 metres away; check the current timetable. See Skiing for details.

Is the accommodation suitable for families with children?

Yes. Our family apartments have two bedrooms and their own kitchens. The garden has a sandpit, slide, playhouse and swings; indoors there is a play corner, table football and table tennis. By arrangement, you can take our Samoyeds for a walk. We provide a free cot for children under two, and children under 15 are exempt from local accommodation tax. See Ždiar with children for trip ideas.

What can we do when it rains?

The Ždiarsky dom folk museum is around 250 metres away on foot. By car, Belianska Cave is 11 minutes away, the thermal pools in Poland’s Białka and Bukowina around 25 minutes, and AquaCity Poprad 35 minutes.

How do we get to you from Poland?

We are 14 km, around 15 minutes, from the Lysá Poľana border crossing, and 37 km from Zakopane. The road from the border to Ždiar does not use a motorway or expressway, so you do not need a motorway vignette.

When is Monkova dolina open?

The route from Monkova dolina via Široké sedlo to Kopské sedlo is seasonally closed from 1 November to 31 May. Before setting out, also check current TANAP notices, as the trail may be closed for other reasons.

How do booking and payment work?

Choose your dates and accommodation in the booking calendar, along with any sauna or hot tub sessions. You will see the price immediately and send your booking request straight to us, with no platform commission. We usually confirm your stay personally within 24 hours and send details for a 30% deposit. Pay the balance on departure, in cash or by bank transfer.

Do you accept Slovak recreation vouchers?
